Kathy Mathieu

Food Sharing Network Founder and Moderator

Kathy Mathieu is an enthusiastic cook who loves to write. She decided to start Food Sharing Network when she realized that almost all conversations turned to food.

Her earliest recollection of preparing food is the dinner she made for unexpected company when she was about 12 years old. In the “old days,” you see, take-out was an extremely rare occurrence. Somebody almost always cooked. Also, you didn’t call your mother at work unless it was an emergency. So, without a second thought, Kathy checked the refrigerator and proceeded to get together a meal with pork chops as the main course and a homemade apple pie for dessert. She has no recollection of ever being taught to cook, although the topic of food was a recurring theme at home. Despite these humble beginnings, she has made more than 14,000 dinners.

Chris Mathieu

Food Sharing Network Photographer and Photo Editor

Chris Mathieu is an accomplished amateur photographer who sometimes bridges the divide to professional. He was photographing food long before the Food Sharing Network. “Photos of food usually have great color and always have varied textures. Think broccoli on a plate or soup in a bowl.”

Together since junior year of college at Fordham University, it is fair to say Kathy and Chris grew up together. They are proud to have produced a family of good eaters and, even better, great cooks.
