Food Sharing Network is proud to support the Rutherford Community Pantry.

A “Needs List” is compiled monthly by the Rutherford Community Pantry, Inc. to direct donations to the immediate needs of the pantry’s users. Celebrate Thanksgiving – or any of the upcoming holidays – with your gift of goods or money to the pantry.

Please drop off donations of food or personal hygiene items at the pantry in the basement of Rutherford’s borough hall during the pantry’s regular hours of operation.

To make arrangements for larger donations, call 201-460-3000, ext. 3168. The pantry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, also gratefully accepts monetary donations. Send checks (payable to the Rutherford Community Pantry, Inc.) to Rutherford Borough Hall, 176 Park Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070.

About the Rutherford Community Pantry, Inc.

In early 1998, leaders in Rutherford began to meet to examine what could be done to better care for those in our community who were in need of the basic necessities of life. A centralized pantry located in our community with easy access and set hours of operation was considered the best way to be a greater benefit to those in need of assistance than which was currently in place. Thanks to this shared vision and concern of the Rutherford clergy, the Social Services Department and other Rutherford community organizations, we are grateful to report that the Rutherford Community Pantry has had a borough presence ever since.

The Rutherford Community Pantry, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that meets emergency and ongoing needs for food and personal hygiene items for citizens of Rutherford and members of Rutherford religious institutions who are referred by an approved agency.

The Rutherford Community Pantry is a joint effort of community faith congregations, organizations and concerned citizens. Our motto is “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” and we firmly believe that without our great volunteers and donors, the pantry wouldn’t be what it is today. We appreciate and need your support on a continued basis.
