Rats! My birthday is over.

After stretching out my birthday for a week, I have to face the fact that the celebration has come to a close. I couldn’t mark its end without noting that it included gifts that have made my humble kitchen better than ever, including a gorgeous bouquet created by Flowers by Chuck in Lyndhurst, a Montauk coffee mug and a Le Creuset grill pan (with purple handles). And do note the ladybug cake my daughter’s family served at my birthday dinner at her home, along with delicious offerings such as homemade sourdough bread.

Regarding fresh flowers – I like to keep them in the kitchen. Why not? Surely, the cook deserves a little luxury.
