How about a little salad?

Sometimes we really, really want some salad, but we just don’t seem to have the energy to make it. Picking up a few basic ingredients when you shop can get you through those days. The only “secret ingredient” is using quality ingredients.

A Simple Salad for Two

The Basics:

  • Boxed tender greens, such as baby spinach
  • Thinly sliced red onion, to taste
  • Cocktail or other sweet ripe tomatoes, cut up
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Dried basil
  • Extra virgin olive oil
Tired and hungry, but feeling as though you don't have the energy to make a salad? This lovely salad takes about 5 minutes to make.

Arrange enough greens on a diner plate to feed two people.

Top with onions, then tomatoes.

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Season tomatoes with a pinch of dried basil.

Drizzle oil on all of the ingredients.

Let sit for about 15 minutes before eating.
