Back to school? It’s time for some slow cookery.

Hectic days usually come with the start of school. When we are our busiest, we seem to need a satisfying and nutritious meal most. Food Sharing Network recommends an Italian-style pot roast that makes excellent use of that slow cooker you may have put aside for the summer. We used ours to make this entree for a Labor Day weekend party.

Slow Cooker Italian Pot Roast

The Basics:

1 4 lb rump roast

4 large Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into thick slices

1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into large pieces

1 jar (24 ounces) Jesben Italian Tomato, Peppers, & Herbs Slow Cooker Sauce

Italian Slow Cooker SauceArrange carrots and potatoes on bottom of slow cooker.

Place meat on top.

Pour on sauce.

Cook on low until tender, about 9 hours.
