Aunt Dorothy’s Cabbage Cheese Bake

The Basics:

  • 1 medium-size head of cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 or 8 Saltine crackers
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 teaspoons butter, melted

Cook cabbage in boiling salted water until crisp tender, about 5 minutes.

Drain.

Add soup and butter.

Turn into shallow 2½ quart baking dish.

Break up crackers and mix pieces with cheese. Sprinkle mixture on top of cabbage.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
